Agriculture is critically important for our economy in Central Washington – and we must keep our local farms farming and in business. We grow some of the best hops, cattle, dairy, hay, timber, fruit, and vegetables in the world, and I’m proud of my family’s legacy in agriculture.
As the daughter of agricultural workers and union members and as someone who has worked in agriculture, I understand firsthand the challenges that industry and workers face- from a shortage of domestic workers to trade barriers, higher costs, and changing growing seasons. Our agriculture industry needs someone who grew up in the fields advocating for them in the state Senate.
Our agriculture workforce is changing. We need to protect our workers and advocate for better working conditions, comprehensive benefits, and fair compensation. It’s the least we can do for our agriculture community. In the State Senate, I will work with our agricultural workers, farmers, and growers to ensure our agricultural economy remains competitive.
